Featured business: Botham’s of Whitby
With Lemon Bun Day here, we’re celebrating the family bakery behind one of Whitby’s best-loved treats. Botham’s has been baking in the town since 1865, when Elizabeth Botham began selling her bread and cakes at the local market, building a business that her family continues today.
Their Skinner Street shop is part of the fabric of the Artisan Quarter, with Yorkshire brack, plum bread, biscuits and cakes alongside those famous Whitby Lemon Buns. For generations of residents and visitors, a trip to Botham’s has been a familiar part of life in Whitby.
Botham’s on Skinner Street is also the starting point for our Lemon Bunny Trail, so pop in, pick up something delicious and begin exploring the independent businesses around the Quarter
